Thank you for your interest in learning about current events surrounding the Alamo and Texas History! We must fight the liberal left who continues with their attempts to disparage Texas History.
My name is Cindy Gaskill. I am a delegate from SD7 and I reside in Montgomery County. I am very proud of my ancestors who were involved in the Texas Revolution. One of my ancestors, Andrew Kent, fought and died at the Alamo. Another ancestor of mine was Caroline Zumwalt, a distant cousin who helped make the "COME AND TAKE IT" flag during the Battle of Gonzales in 1835. The last 3-4 years, I have been heavily involved in defending Texas History and testifying in front of multiple agencies regarding the protection of the Alamo and the Alamo Cenotaph. I provided critical research which was instrumental in stopping the relocation of the Alamo Cenotaph. Thankfully, we were victorious when the Texas Historical Commission denied the relocation permit for the Cenotaph on September 22, 2020. Please read the document below titled, "Alamo Update" which details the latest with some of the issues we are having in fighting the liberal leftists who continue to denigrate the Alamo and Texas History. The Alamo Battle for Liberty was NOT A MYTH and we cannot allow the left to disparage the memory of our Texas Heroes!
